Although, I assume that the book was written for managers and bankers, I am sure that it also makes a valuable contribution to the social science research. In particular, I like the overall open innovation model that explains the phenomenon under investigation. The book is clearly structured. The literature review "The Strategic Value of Growth and Innovation" is well elaborated. It might be especially interesting for students and researcher. Where chapters such as "Leading through the Changing Business Environment" are more generic, there are in-depth discussions, where the author explains transition strategies with a number of different examples from the banking industry. The new set of management practices is also an interesting reading. The more as they could be adapted for other industries.
