It introduces the role of CMO, which I think you don't have to have the title but you can use its description to broaden your view for position. After reading it, you can use a CEO's perspectives to view the marketing function. Not just a marketing director's perspectives. This means, you are thinking about how to let your company earn money via branding and communication and how you build up an effective marketing team but not how to deliver a stunning marketing campaign only.
I also like the way the book incorporates "PMP- Project Management Process" into marketing tasks. In my past working experience, great marketing campaign can only be generated by those marketing but not duplicable by team work. Through the PMP techniques, you can properly allocate tasks and responsibilities to your marketing team and make the marketing strategy a art of teamwork.
Through the two useful concepts which introduced by this book, I think I could make my job as a head of marketing department more efficient and effective.
