The Business Podcasting Bible: Wherever My Market Is... I Am ReviewI really like Paul Colligan's website and podcasts about podcasting (both very highly recommended -- search on Google to find them), and I eagerly ordered a copy of this book, expecting some great information. Frankly, I am very disappointed. This book is nothing more than a poorly produced extended commercial, full of platitudes both general and inspecific. This book explores a lot of general business philosophy, but provides little practical, applicable advice about how to really make any money in podcasting. There are a *few* good ideas hidden in here -- but you have to wade through a *lot* of prose to find them. Unlike some of the other excellent podcasting advice books in print (see Jason van Orden's "Promoting Your Podcast" and Walch/Lafferty's "Tricks of the Podcasting Masters"), this book just didn't meet my expectations -- which were admittedly high, considering the impressive pedigrees of the two authors. Paul and Alex, you two are acknowledged experts in this field, and you can do a lot better than this book. In addition, I was struck at how poorly organized and produced this book really is -- no titles for chapters (which makes sense, since there is little organization to the subject matter -- many of the chapters read the same), and no index. There is, however, a lot of advertising tucked in here and there for services provided by Paul and Alex. When I buy a book from industry experts, I don't want an infomercial -- I want real information. I even went to the "member site" referred to in the book, and ran into technical problems when trying to access it. Frustrating? You bet. My advice: skip this book, and go to Paul Colligan's excellent blog -- you'll find a LOT more useful information there.The Business Podcasting Bible: Wherever My Market Is... I Am Overview

Success Secrets of the Online Marketing Superstars ReviewI bought this book for my wife but after having looked at it I should have bought some flowers instead.
The book was bilge water but for those who watch the gurus of e-marketing the classic formula for e-book selling has been followed to the letter.
Really great ad copy to move the book (sell the sizzle not the steak) and use the book as a thinly veiled advertisement pushing the products of all the gurus who "generously" supplied content.
For the unititiated I would suggest this. Go to each of the websites of those marketers mentioned in the book or the teaser copy. What you will find is the same names popping up on all of the different websites. This is because they each act as an endorsement for the others product.
Go to Mitch's website and you will see the "usual suspects" endorsing this book as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then go to one of their's and you will find Mitch endorsing their product as the greatest thing since sliced bread. It takes a while to spot the mechanics but before to long you to will learn the secrect too cross-plugging and expert endorsements for fame and fortune.
It reminds me a little of the old Shakesperian acting troupes where the same five or six actors toured together. In each play it was the same actors only playing different parts.
I also suspect that those who have provided glowing reviews are either new to this game or are schmoozing for an endorsement of their own product by one of the big fish.
Bottom line- save your money. And remember how this game works the next time you get one of those "You've just got to see this" emails touting a new product from one of the "usual suspects".
This is how you take dishwater and turn it into an overnight best seller. Which ever one of these guys who's turn it is to shear the sheep this month simply has the other guys who are waiting their turn at bat blast their mail list with a glowing revue and a "to good to resist" offer. The groupies and the newbies fork out the shekels enmasse while the gurus begin work on their sheep shearing best seller.Success Secrets of the Online Marketing Superstars Overview

Internet Marketing: Strategy, Implementation and Practice (4th Edition) ReviewThis book is required for an internet marketing class I am taking. I find it difficult to read. The authors are throwing so much information into each chapter that it is overwhelming and hard to absorb. I also feel that it does not follow a logical path, meaning that they reference other chapters and concepts not yet touched on almost constantly. Very often the other chapters referenced come later in the book so you haven't read them yet if you are going page/chapter order. I would not recommend this book for a student of e-marketing. Perhaps, if you already have experience in this field, you may find it useful, but as a teaching tool I feel it falls short.Internet Marketing: Strategy, Implementation and Practice (4th Edition) Overview

I now have an appreciation of many more aspects of what's involved when planning for, implementing, and testing e-Marketing campaigns, and I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone involved in all aspects (strategizing, managing, implementing) of e-Marketing.
