The benefits of an at home business are growing larger every day and this book shows how one can make a success out of working at home.
The way Ms. Shepard organizes the book makes it very easy to follow and utilize. She takes the reader systematically through the processes of selecting a business, setting up a home office, making a business plan, finance options and advertising. I found the chapter on self-evaluation to be a valuable tool. In this chapter, Ms. Shepard has the reader ask themselves the hard questions to determine if they are truly ready to start their own business and to find out what direction would be the best to take. This aspect of the book shows that it is not a scheme to become a millionaire overnight. Instead, this publication is a serious guidebook shows the reader their strengths and weaknesses. In turn, the book provides the reader with resources to strengthen their skills if they need to.
I feel that this book is not just a guide to starting a business, but also one that is a reference in order to keep a home based business on track. Finally there is a book that gives the aspiring entrepreneur helpful and practical advice in plain straightforward language.

The Definitive Guide to Making Money Online With Your Writing ReviewIf you have principles, do not buy this book. The author says straight up in one section that he bought a business on ebay for $1,100 and found that he was ripped off - the business was just a website template. Funny thing is, he just turned around and sold it at the same price on ebay, ruining someone else's finances as well.
He says in the book that when writing web content, you should not do any editing - just slap some content on the page and send it out. This is exactly what he did with this book, it's obvious. It has not been edited. He self-published it in the same unscrupulous way that he ran every "business" that he has had.
There is zero relevant or useful info in this book. He just talks about 4 or 5 businesses which he ran, having desperate writers work for him, and calls it "the definitive guide to making money online".. yeah, if you're a crook like him.

100 Ways To Make $100 A Day Online ReviewWhile this book had a few ideas, it was pretty much a generalized rehashed list of ideas that i have heard of before. And you probably have, too!
I bought the kindle edition, and the resource links did not work. Each of the 100 items had what was supposed to be a resource link after it, and it looked to me to be nothing more than the author promoting his own affiliate business through this ebook. I have a strong feeling if the links would have worked, I would have been asked to pay for "further information" once I was at that stage. One of the resources that were named, I Googled, and it came up to be a reported scam on a national news web page. The saying goes,
If something sounds too good to be true...so, save your money. I am glad I only wasted .99 on the kindle edition.100 Ways To Make $100 A Day Online Overview

Work at Home Now: The No-nonsense Guide to Finding Your Perfect Home-based Job, Avoiding Scams, and Making a Great Living ReviewI've been a long-time fan of the authors' website, the RatRaceRebellion, and when I had an opportunity to read their newest book, I jumped on it. I've read lots of "work at home" books, and they all said basically the same things. Durst's and Haaren's new book doesn't dwell on the same old things that are in the other books; instead, it jumps right to the heart of what all new home-based workers want to know - where to find work. Not only do the authors list a multitude of websites offering work-at-home opportunities, they've checked out every one of the websites, plus they've organized the listing into job types (they've included categories such as "merchandiser" and "notary" that are more "work FROM home). They've even included a category of websites for work in the "adult" industry (if you're so inclined)!
The authors have also done a great job showing readers how to do effective Google and Craigslist searches for work, and they tell what to look for in order to avoid scams.
All in all, this is a very well-written and extremely well-organized book about how to find a good home-based job and avoid all the scams out there. I liked this book. I'm not a fan of online retailing. But it can be done, and if a book does a reasonably good job introducing the reader to some good information on the subject, then I feel obligated to write a short review and post it on Amazon. This book is well written, well outlined & organized, and fills a void in the literature available on online retailing.
A few years ago I read and reviewed Unofficial Guide to Starting a Business Online (Unofficial Guides). I think I gave that book a 4-star as well. It did not fair as well with some other reviewers. But I think they were unjust. The instant book being reviewed probably could be called "Part II" of that book in my humble opinion. It adds information and updates information so the reader in 2009 is pretty informed on the topic of setting up a retail sales site or presence online today.
The Table of Contents (TOC) for this book is quite detailed. It will tell you exactly what is covered in this nice little book. I encourage you to take a look at the Search Inside feature Amazon offers for this book. It is there you can see the TOC for free.
Four other books that will probably interest you if you are into online retail sales are: Sell on Amazon: A Guide to Amazon's Marketplace, Seller Central, and Fulfillment by Amazon Programs, Make a Fortune Promoting Other People's Stuff Online: How Affiliate Marketing Can Make You Rich, ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income, & craigslist 4 Everyone. They will supplement the material covered in the instant book being reviewed.
